Manchester Film Weekender data protection policy
Manchester Film Weekender wishes to, and believes it does, fully comply with the 2018 General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Manchester Film Weekender is the data controller which determines the purpose and means of processing personal data.
What data is held and why:
Manchester Film Weekender is a community cinema and holds the following audience information: name, address, email address and telephone number.
Only “name” is required to be an audience member, contact details are optional.
The requirement to sign in a name at the box office is so that in an emergency we know who is in the building.
Contact details are held to inform the audience of forthcoming film seasons, of any last-minute alterations to the programme or cancellations.
We will only contact audience members in relation to Manchester Film Weekender activities. We will never pass on attendance data to third parties.
Audience members can ask to view what data we hold on them at any time, and we will respond within the one-month period required by the GDPR.
Audience members can ask for their contact data to be removed at any time.
Principle 5 of the regulations requires Manchester Film Weekender to retain personal data no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was obtained.
Therefore, in future seasons, having a record of who has purchased tickets will allow us to carry out a periodic audit of who no longer attends our films and will allow us to remove their data from our files.
Where data is held and who has access to it
Audience details are held on a password protected laptop held by the secretary.
